Do Black Men Benefit From Light Skin Privilege? What is light skin privilege?
True and thank you for expounding on this topic.
Colorism is nothing more than imagery, people take all kinds of images and define them, and honestly that’s nothing hard to do. I think that making up all these different types of cultural rules based on image is shallow and empty. Not base less cause like I said its all about image. The idea that based on how you look determines how you should be treated. All of these stereotypes about lightskin, dark-skinned means nothing. All of these projections are based on what you think other people think. These rules that we make up for the “culture” are pretty narrow in perspective. Its like (if you look like this than this applies to you) I believe some people are insecure and are lead by inflated egos. These inflated egos are disguised to appear as a message of encouragement and confidence, in actuality people are just suppressing thier insecurities. The truth is you are just an individual, we all can’t get behind an image and try to define it, we need to get behind ideas that are productive and superceded expectations. #peaceandlove
It’s truly sad that we are divided based on the shade of blackness. I’m a dark skin brother and I don’t have any hatred towards my light skin and mixed brothers and sisters, in my eyes they are black. I had several crushes on girls in the past who were both dark and light but I don’t judge them base on shade, but I understand what you are saying Angel I pray that we unite as one people again and love each other instead of hating.
