Firstly, I hate when people say “get over slavery… Besides your own people sold you”. Or “African people sold other Black people into slavery”.

In this video, I will debunk this type of misinformation. Sadly this fallacy is also constantly pumped into the school system regarding the transatlantic slave trade. The narrative that African people sold their own people into slavery is one of manipulation & deception told from a disingenuous position.

The Truth About Slavery

Most importantly of all, if we are to allow our history to be told from the colonizers perspective, then of course we will be lead down a rabbit hole of lies & deceit.
There is an old African saying: “Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will glorify the hunter.” – By Chinua Achebe, the great Nigerian Author, Novelist, Professor & Poet.

It goes to show you that whoever writes the history of the “hunt”, will praise themselves. Till today, this is the same history that Black/African children still learn in schools. Our education is so europeanized that as a  result, by the time we finish high school, we know more about Europe than Africa.

As I have stated many times before “white people want to be the victors & the victims, but never seen as the villains”.

In order to know the truth about slavery, you must tell the whole truth & also nothing but the truth. Not just bits & pieces, picking the parts that hide the true atrocities. In conclusion can you really trust the stories of your oppressor.
