I absolutely agree that no one should use the “N-word”. However, we can’t stop those who want to use it from using it. The only thing we have control over in this world is ourselves. When a non-black person decides to say it in a derogatory way, or otherwise, it instantly provokes anger in us. They are very well aware of this. If we allow someone to have that kind of power over us, then we might as well be their puppets. The outcome of a situation like that could be us losing everything we’ve worked so hard to overcome and achieve in our lives. Especially if we react with violence. Word gets around that you can be manipulated easily with this tactic, next thing you know you’re getting set up and/or locked up. It might feel good to punish someone who clearly deserves it, but a slap to the face dulls in comparison to prison time with a criminal record, as far as consequences go. Violence is only useful in times of self-defence or revolution, in my opinion. Alot may disagree, but from my own life experience I’ve learned that people who go out of their way to try and make someone else upset, is because they themselves are already living in a self-created hell. It’s our job not to join them there.
