I am a dark brown skinned curvy woman , age 51 and my mother’s the same way..But I had a very light skinned younger sister…and I was abused by my parents and treated invisible and a little cruel by some family members…Now, both parents are my complexion (my father is a little lighter with blue eyes)….but at an early age, I had to become the second mother in the house. To make a long story short…..I was treated exactly like Cicely from the color purple….. I went through hell!! …my immediate family looked and treated me like the maid… My sister got to go places, have sleepovers, able to have an opinion.. She got to finish school on time… You get where I’m going……So, I thank you for being a voice of black women
