Her skill set would consist of Painting, Drawing, and her natural flare for Sewing and fashion. Yasmin has pursed a higher education degree in Fashion Design.
At the end of her education she gave her time and devotion to creating her own self made brand ByYasmarie and in pursuit of her lifes dream to make it a real life reality.
Yasmin background of Caribbean & Indian infusion within her Designs and hand picked styles that may tickle her's as well as your fancy. Her designs carry the quality of sophisticated and elegant but yet patriarchal, strong independent women.
With the use of traditional materials and exquisite fabrics and fine detailing, she produces beautiful garment pieces. Targeted at "THE WOMAN" which is any woman as every woman is beautiful. Her pieces does joy just glorify a woman's body but their personality too as well aa background/culture for some of the other pieces.
Within fashion, Caribbean culture/fashion is portrayed in a way in which Is not really attractive or factful in some ways and with ByYasmaries handmade garments she will show the world what the Caribbean is all about. With traditional clothing, blogs, vlogs and lookbook/photoshoots. Hopefully people will become educated and knowledgeable of the island's history, heritage and culture.
Our national fabric is Plaid or Madras in other island's. Not a netted vest top with Ethiopian colours and dreadlocks or a military jacket with the Lion of Judah on it. However that being said it is a Rastafarian movement but it is not Jamaica or the Caribbeans national dress. The national dress is called Wob Dwiyet (French Creole)for women and Mens will wear a type of tuxedo.
Through her brand she want to make people aware of this. Not to make it a trend but to make it known. To have acknowledgement, acceptance and appreciation of it. Because it does exist. Amoungst over things ByYasmarie wish to bring to light.
From knowledge of the Windrush in memory of her Granddaddy London Born, Caribbean/Indian based fashion designer & blogger/vlogger, Yasmin Fletcher started her journey at a early age, as she has always been into art, fashion, beauty, anything that involves her being creative.
Also not just doing stuff for the Caribbean as patriotic as Yasmin is, she also will showcase prom and pageant gowns to any requested pieces to be made to one off items that she wishes to create and show to the world.
To all my lovers of the island's and my Caribbean people & fashionista's this is something for you.
