The founder of Cultivated Roots Media, Akua, is devoted to writing books that install and promote children's pride as well as awareness in Afrikan culture. Be it Africans living in america or Black people of African decent living, born and raised in any country, there is a critical need for children to learn about black heroes and historical figures who have made great contributions in history.

We believe that if children can recognize cartoon and comic book figures they can also become familiar with and admire real historical figures as well.
Along with historical facts all of Akua's titles offer children an instilling sense of pride, encouragement and with the power that they too can overcome any situation and achieve difficult goals!

"When a needle falls into a deep well, many people will look into the well, but few will be ready to go down after it." - (African Proverb)
